  • About Symmetry

    Hi everyone,

I have modeled a high poly character in ZBrush.
I would like to use this character as reference.
I started to place a few points starting on the nose and also starting on the middle of the upper lip, ending on the lower lip.
I selected these 3 points (on the nose, on the middle of the upper lip, on the middle of the lower lip) and applied Symmetry Zero Snap.
I got bad result: the 3 points are sent on the left side of the character instead of being located on the symmetry axis.

I checked the pivot location: it is on world origin but it is not located on symmetry axis of my model.
    That explains everything.
Is there a way to fix that in Topogun?
I tried to do it in ZBrush without success.

    Thanks for your help.

Just reimport it in another 3d package and reset the pivot to 0,0,0. Export it out and reimport it into Topogun

        Hi,

The reference mesh should be in the center of the scene, otherwise the symmetry won't work correctly.
One workaround is to create a new symmetry plane in TopoGun and place it in the center of your reference mesh.
